The first thing off of our list was a trip to Minnehaha Falls. Our last Monday in May was spent there, looking at the falls, and riding rented bikes. Someone at the Park (in the state where nothing is allowed) has contracted for Surrey bicycles to be available for rental. These bikes seat two to six people. The kids love them, and you may rent them for an hour, or for a day. One hour is plenty. Mom or dad usually work all of the pedals, and it is tough going uphill. The sights are nice, passing the Ford dam from above, and driving through the MN Veteran's Home grounds. A pleasant bike ride, and a chance to let the kids think that they are capable of driving or steering a car. After all of the arguing about which way to turn, how sharp to turn, and how to ease into a stop, we all regrouped, and became a family again.

I wanted to get the bike ride over with, because there was some light at the end of the tunnel. Also in the park, is a little restaurant that serves food. Now I like food, but that's not what made me happy. They also serve beer. Yes, again in the state where nothing is allowed, we do sell beer in a park. After a bike ride or a hike down by the creek, it is probably the coldest, best beer you will have. The sights are fantastic, you just sit in your chair, nursing a beer, while the kids are having ice cream. It has the makings of a great day. Again, you may call me a sap, but making my kids happy is a number one priority for my wife and me. Being able to have a cold beer while I achieve this, is and added plus. Minneapolis, hats off to you, and thanks for a great day. Saint Paul, there is a lot to do in your city, and my list of just what I do with my family in St. Paul, is being compiled right now. Look for it in my next blog.......
