I spent this weekend out Minnetonka way. The entire family packed up the car, and headed out to a tournament at Glen Lake. Is there a Glen Lake? I saw some water close to the park, but never found a lake. Anyway, we had fun watching baseball in the sun, and the youngster that was the focus of our attention this weekend, played well, and our team won the tournament. You would think that after all of the busy schedules of softball, baseball, hockey this summer that I would regret having to spend a weekend watching more baseball. Nope. It was still pleasant. the lawn had been mowed, flowers watered, etc. It was nice to just sit. The four year old was occupied with others close to his age and was busy getting into things that he had not seen before. He was under the watchful eyes of his parents, or other parents that have power of attorney to correct any unruly behavior. The young ladies in the family, were in charge of the manual scoreboard, but did have to be whistled at from behind home plate. Apparently they did not pay attention to the number of players on base before the HR was hit. To their credit though, they nailed the fact that the tag out at second base, happened before the run crossed the plate. I was impressed. Summer passes us by quickly, but time on Sunday afternoon seemed to just kind of float by slowly. Thank God for the sun, little league baseball, and four occupied urchins on a Sunday afternoon
