There is truly nothing better than a good scare.  I see myself as a master of the scare.  Yes, there are people out there that think it is nothing more than leaping out and yelling:  "BOO".  If this is the case with you, then you are at an entry level.  To climb higher, one must "stalk" their prey.  Not in a weird way, but just notice what they do, where they go at certain times, and especially pay attention to what they don't like.  This is important.  One can really hit it out of the park, with a small scare sometimes, just by presenting a little something they don't like.  Keep that in mind.

There are three components to a great scare:  Timing, secrecy, accuracy.  Timing means that you are there at the right time, of course.  It also must include 'the mark' being at the proper place as well.  Secrecy is important because no one must know that you are planning a major league scare.  If you tell someone, that person will peer around the corner, or stay close to the location of the scare,  allowing 'the mark' to become suspicious.  You will never get the maximum out of the scare if this happens.  Keep it to yourself.  Accuracy is the most important of the three and is key to executinga good scare.  Being accurate means that you have planned your scare well, knowing who 'the mark' is, when they will be there, why they will be there, and how long they will be there.  It like scare homework.  Let's face it, you don't want to scare Mr. Hubbard, here at the radio station, when 'the mark' is Soucheray.  Although Mr. Hubbard has a great sense of humor, it would just be an awkward moment.  No thanks.

I'm giving you scare knowledge, so that you may plan a good scare in the next couple of days.  If you are at an entry level, you will plan a good scare for Halloween.  Good for you.  This means that you have scared someone who is already expecting to be frightened.  Everyone's guard is up because it is October 31st.  You get a D+

To those of you that are out there and have planned a scare after Halloween.  I applaud you.  You are on your way to becoming a Scare Master.  Once the candy has been counted, separated, consumed and the decorations have been put away, 'the marks' out there are very unsuspecting.  Plan well, my friend, or should I say my Master........

I leave you with this teaser.  I shall share with you, very soon, my best three scares ever.  These three scares involve two family members, and one co-worker.  My mother, my sister, and Joe.  Three easy marks that have helped me gain my status as a Scare Master.......

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
