Should the Vikings trade up? What position should top their draft list? (ep. 196)

ESPN’s Ben Goessling along with 1500ESPN’s Matthew Coller and Judd Zulgad go all-in on the Minnesota Vikings’ draft. Is there a good argument for trading back into the first round? Which position should the Vikings prioritize with the 48th overall selection? Also, how should the Vikings view the 2016 draft and who is the most interesting player in the draft this year?

  • Mike Sullivan

The Vikings should stand pat and draft. They still have many needs / wants, and If anything, i could see a couple trades down to accumulate picks in a deep defensive and Running back class. They still have a need at safety, Defensive Tackle, and Running Back, Not including the need to add a Center or a Guard and even a Offensive Tackle. I would also throw a Tight end in there as a huge need to pair with Rudolph and a guy that can Block. This team needs more offensive talent to help the Defense and take the pressure of a unit that can be extremely good if they don’t have to be on the field the whole game.

I do not see why people say RB is a need, Murray and the jet are serviceable. Its lazy vikings reporting tbh. “oh 28 is gone and its a deep class, we’ll give them a RB”. C/G, Slot Corner to replace captain, LB to replace chad, I agree on TE (i think ruddy is terribly overrated) and WR are much higher needs than a damn RB currently.

  • Gordon Guffey

I would say no to trading up but the draft is a funny and different kind of animal ~
When drafting with any of your picks I would say shoot for drafting the BPA ~ I have seen far to many reaches by all teams ~ And just like last year no one anywhere kewn the kind of season Thielen was going to have or that Norv would step down and Patterson would once again find favor with his new OC ~ Was Treadwell a reach for a need ~ ??? I think maybe but he was also well thought of by most of the draft people who saw him as a great pick at 23 ~
