MINNEAPOLIS -- Running back Adrian Peterson and defensive end Jared Allen were both active for the Minnesota Vikings game Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals at the Metrodome.
Peterson (ankle) and Allen (groin) were held out of practice last Thursday but both practiced Friday and coach Leslie Frazier said they would play.
Wide receiver Jerome Simpson also will play after sitting out last Sunday's game against Washington because of weakness and numbness in his lower leg. Simpson's problem is tied to a back ailment that is believed to involve an issue with a disc.
There were no big surprises among the Vikings' inactives. The list included quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson; wide receiver Jarius Wright; cornerback Brandon Burton; safety Mistral Raymond (ankle); linebacker Audie Cole; tackle Mark Asper; and defensive end D'Aundre Reed.
Cole had been active for the past four games.
The Cardinals inactives included quarterback Kevin Kolb; free safety Kerry Rhodes; cornerback Greg Toler; fullback Anthony Sherman; linebacker Reggie Walker; guard Senio Kelemete; and tight end Todd Heap.
