Adrian Peterson's lawyer continued to go on the offensive on Tuesday afternoon.

Rusty Hardin told ESPN's "NFL Live" the Minnesota Vikings' star running back was treated by a doctor on Tuesday for facial injuries suffered during his arrest early Saturday morning at a Houston bar.

Specifically, Hardin said the doctor examined bruises over one of Peterson's eyes suffered during the altercation and that Peterson's shoulders were wrenched as well.

That meshes with the picture Hardin painted on Monday of Peterson as the victim, not the aggressor, and Hardin said on Tuesday that multiple witnesses will corroborate the story.

No obvious injuries are visible in Peterson's booking photo, which the Houston Police Department released on Monday.

The police report said the incident started when Peterson shoved an off-duty police officer working at the Bayou! Live nightclub -- a contention Hardin has called a "total fabrication."

Peterson is charged with resisting arrest. His first court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
