After a second consecutive 2-2 week, the Wolves are still getting touted as one of the NBA's best teams by national media outlets.

Whether you think they're elite or not depends where you draw the cutoff line for what constitutes 'elite.' The San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat are elite. You can make arguments for the L.A. Clippers, the Golden State Warriors, the Wolves, and perhaps a small handful of other teams.

Are the Wolves deserving of that list?

This week, they lost to the Clippers and the Nuggets on the road, and beat the Celtics and Cavaliers at home. The Clippers, a very good team, narrowly held on, as the Wolves had three chances to tie the score with the clock winding down. The Nuggets may contend for a playoff spot, but the Wolves put forth a poor effort in a lethargic loss. Minnesota blew out Cleveland and Boston.

Here's a sampling of the national media's thoughts on the Wolves:

From's Marc Stein

No. 5 - Last week: No. 3.

The two Kevins -- Love and Martin -- have formed the league's highest-scoring duo in the season's opening month. And the Wolves' D, essentially spearheaded by zero shot-blockers, ranks as a top-six defense at this admittedly early juncture. If those trends and the good health lasts ...

From Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears

No. 7 - Last week: No. 4.

Kevin Garnett returns to Minnesota when Brooklyn visits on Friday. Garnett led the T'wolves to their last playoff appearance in 2004.

From's Matt Moore

No. 4 - Last week: No. 3.

In Denver, in a game when nothing went right, they climbed back into the game. And that was an impressive win against the Celtics. This team is legit right now.
