CLEVELAND -- With left-hander Francisco Liriano set to return from a short stint on the disabled list Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins optioned right-hander Anthony Slama to Triple-A Rochester after Monday's 6-4 win.
Slama pitched in two games during his brief time with the Twins, allowing zero runs and zero hits in 2 1/3 innings, striking out three and walking one.
Liriano last pitched on May 22 before being temporarily shut down with shoulder inflammation. He owns a 5.73 ERA with 34 walks and 32 strikeouts in 48 2/3 innings, but has allowed two earned runs or fewer in three of his last four starts.
