Minnesota Twins righthanded reliever Anthony Swarzak is expected to miss a month after fracturing two ribs late last month in non-baseball related activity.

The team announced the news on Wednesday but did not provide any other details of how Swarzak suffered the injury.

Swarzak went 3-6 last season with a 5.03 earned-run average in 44 games last season, including five starts. He is 10-20 with a 5.03 ERA in 83 games and 28 starts.

The Twins' pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report next Wednesday and the full squad will report on Feb. 16.
