ESPN won't necessarily be thrilled about this one.

Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire told reporters on Saturday that left-hander Francisco Liriano's next start has been pushed from Monday night in Boston -- a nationally televised contest -- to Tuesday night at Target Field against the Tigers.

Liriano, who threw a no-hitter in his last outing on Tuesday in Chicago, came down with a sore throat on Friday, and the team has decided to give him an extra day of rest.

Nick Blackburn will pitch Monday instead on regular rest, against right-hander Josh Beckett.

Pitching on Monday would have given Liriano one extra day of rest. Instead, he'll get two extra days.
