SAN FRANCISCO -- One of the two receivers the Minnesota Vikings worked out on Friday is headed elsewhere.
According to ESPN's John Clayton, Brandon Jones signed with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Jones, 27, was the younger, healthier and more sensible of the two veteran options the Vikings explored. The other was Javon Walker, 31, who has a bad knee, didn't record a catch in 2009 with the Oakland Raiders and has a rocky history with Vikings quarterback Brett Favre.
The Vikings entered Sunday's preseason game at San Francisco with only eight available receivers because Sidney Rice (hip) and Percy Harvin (migraines) are out and Jaymar Johnson (thumb) landed on injured reserve last week.
Bernard Berrian and Greg Lewis have taken most of the reps with the No. 1 offense since training camp opened last month. Johnson's injury moved Logan Payne, the former Gopher, into the No. 3 spot this past week.
Payne was on the field more than two hours before kickoff catching passes from Favre, who has limited work with all the receivers except Berrian and Lewis.
