Brent Burns is an NHL All-Star.

The Minnesota Wild on Tuesday announced its seventh-year defenseman has been selected to the game, which will be played on Jan. 30 at RBC Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Burns, 25, ranks second among NHL defensemen this season with 12 goals. He also has 14 assists and 47 penalty minutes while leading the Wild in playing time (24 minutes, 38 seconds per game).

He's only the sixth Wild player to earn NHL All-Star honors, joining Marian Gaborik (2003 and '08), Filip Kuba (2004), Dewayne Roloson (2004), Brian Rolston (2007) and Niklas Backstrom (2009).
