The Wild on Thursday assigned winger Stephane Veilleux to the Iowa Wild after he cleared waivers.

When the team put Veilleux on waivers, it foreshadowed power forward Charlie Coyle's return.

Coyle, who has been out since early October with a sprained knee, is expected to return to the lineup Friday night. The Wild host the Montreal Canadiens, and have shuffled their lines at practice this week, according to multiple media reports.

That includes a relatively big shift in philosophy, as Mikko Koivu and Zach Parise have been split up at practice, according to Michael Russo of the Star Tribune and Chad Graff of the Pioneer Press.

If head coach Mike Yeo goes Friday with the line combinations he has used at practice this week, it would be the first time the pair is separated since Parise signed with the Wild last July.
