MINNEAPOLIS -- With three players hobbled and unavilable for Monday, the Twins made a roster move.

Chris Herrmann joined the team and Jason Bartlett (sprained left ankle) went on the disabled list.

Josh Willingham and Oswaldo Arcia also were out of the lineup with hand injuries.

Assistant GM Rob Antony said Bartlett tried running on the field before Monday's game, and it was decided he would go on the DL.

Herrmann provides flexibility, because he can play in the outfield and at catcher. He said he could play center field or first base in a pinch.
