Christian Ponder left Thursday's game in the third quarter after an apparent injury. He took off running for the end zone and took a hard hit as he neared the pylon.
He left the field clutching his left wrist and was being evaluated on the trainer's table. Ponder left to the locker room and will not return. The team announced that he has a shoulder injury.
After a review, it was ruled that Ponder did not score on the play, at which point Matt Cassel took over at quarerback. Cassel handed off to Adrian Peterson, who ran right and scored on the next play to tie the score at 27-27. The extra point gave the Vikings the lead.
