After last night's 2-1 loss in Seattle, the Twins placed OF Michael Cuddyer on the bereavement list and recalled 3B Danny Valencia from Class-AAA Rochester.

Valencia will start at third base and bat eighth tonight against Mariners RHP Felix Hernandez (2-4, 3.50).

Carl Pavano (5-5, 3.99) will start for the Twins.

Here's the full lineup:

1. Denard Span CF
2. Matt Tolbert 2B
3. Joe Mauer C
4. Justin Morneau 1B
5. Jim Thome DH
6. Jason Kubel RF
7. Delmon Young LF
8. Danny Valencia 3B
9. Nick Punto SS

Update: Valencia tallied an infield single on a roller down the third base line in his first Major League at bat. Valencia becomes the third Twins hitter this season to collect a hit in his first Major League at bat, behind Luke Hughes and Trevor Plouffe.
