ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Winger Dany Heatley will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder Tuesday in Cleveland.
The Wild announced the news in a press release issued Tuesday evening.
Heatley dislocated the shoulder when San Jose's Marc-Edouard Vlasic drove him to the ice last Wednesday after the two became involved in an altercation.
Heatley is sixth on the Wild in scoring with 21 points and his 11 goals are third on the team.
He had been playing on the third line with Kyle Brodziak and Cal Clutterbuck after starting the season on the first line with Mikko Koivu and Zach Parise. Charlie Coyle, who had been on the first line, has replaced Heatley with Brodziak and Clutterbuck.
Jason Pominville, acquired last week from Buffalo, is now playing on a wing with Parise and Koivu.
