The Minnesota Wild announced Friday they have re-signed defenseman Steven Kampfer to a one-year, two-way contract.
Acquired in February 2012 in a trade with the Boston Bruins for Greg Zanon, Kampfer spent the 2012-13 season with the Wild's AHL affiliate, the Houston Aeros. He had 17 assists and four goals in 55 games with Houston.
The Anaheim Ducks, who drafted the Kampfer in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL draft, traded the defenseman to Boston in 2010. Kampfer later made his NHL debut with the Bruins, and has since gone on to post seven goals and eight assists in 61 career games.
