Kevin Williams had his right knee hyperextended and bruised during Sunday night's third preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers, according to a statement from head coach Leslie Frazier.

Williams was the victim of an apparent cheap shot in the third quarter, in which 49ers offensive lineman Joe Looney threw a block below the knees away from the play that appeared to blindside Williams.

The Vikings defensive tackle was later seen on the sidelines with a noticeable limp. NBC sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya said during Sunday's broadcast that Williams had left to the locker room to ice his knee.

"From what I understand, it was a dirty play," defensive end Jared Allen told Tafoya during the game. "It sucks."

An MRI performed Monday showed no ligament damage.
