Eric Nystrom's return to the Minnesota Wild didn't last long.

Hours after the veteran forward cleared re-entry waivers on Wednesday, the Wild traded Nystrom to the Dallas Stars for "future considerations."

Nystrom, 28, had four goals and eight assists last season after signing a three-year, $4.2 million deal.

He was assigned to Houston of the American Hockey League after clearing regular waivers last week, then cleared re-entry waivers on Wednesday, meaning the rest of the NHL declined to claim him for half of his $1.4 million salary.
