Las Vegas saw a familiar duo on the court for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Summer League on Sunday.
Former Gophers Rodney Williams and Trevor Mbakwe both showed flashes in Philly's 88-80 loss to the Houston Rockets. Mbakwe scored five points and grabbed four rebounds in 12 minutes. Williams went for 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and three blocks in 27 minutes.
Williams missed both three-point shots he took, and he managed to collect five fouls, but he did apparently throw down two exciting dunks.
For Williams and Mbakwe, the NBA's Summer League basically acts as an audition for Philadelphia and other teams that may have their radars up.
