MANKATO, Minn. -- Another familiar face is back with the Minnesota Vikings.

Nose tackle Fred Evans said via Twitter on Sunday morning he has re-signed with the Vikings.

Evans, 27, has spent the past four seasons with the Vikings in a reserve role. But he played in only eight games last season and didn't receive a restricted tender in February.

Though Evans isn't a lock to make the team, the move seems to confirm the Vikings are moving on without veteran nose tackle Pat Williams. They signed former New Orleans nose tackle Remi Ayodele last week, plan to give Letroy Guion plenty of action and drafted Christian Ballard in the fourth round of April's NFL Draft.

Players are due to report here by 4 p.m. Sunday.
