The Minnesota Vikings aren't done looking at free-agent receivers just yet.
Jerome Simpson is scheduled to visit the Vikings on Saturday, ESPN reported.
Simpson, 26, is coming off the best of his four NFL seasons, with 50 catches for 725 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games (14 starts) with Cincinnati.
He also was involved in a high-profile legal entanglement, culminating with a guilty plea on March 1 to a felony charge resulting from about 2 pounds of marijuana being shipped to his northern Kentucky home in September.
Simpson, who previously made a free-agent visit to St. Louis, was sentenced to 15 days in jail and three years' probation. That also could trigger an NFL suspension to begin next season and helps explain why he's still unemployed.
However, at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds with 4.4-range speed and exceptional athletic ability, Simpson fits a mold the Vikings have been seeking for a receiver group that could use on upgrade outside.
Their only previous signing at the position was Bryan Walters, who has spent most of the past two years bouncing on and off San Diego's practice squad.
