EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- For the second time in as many days, the Minnesota Vikings got back a player they believe could be a key contributor on offense.
On Wednesday, it was guard Geoff Schwartz, who was in pads for practice for the first time since undergoing sports hernia surgery on Aug. 7.
Tight end John Carlson (knee) practiced again after returning on Tuesday.
The Vikings remain short-handed in the secondary. Chris Carr (back), Marcus Sherels (ankle), Josh Robinson (concussion), Andrew Sendejo (ankle) and Mistral Raymond (back) all missed practice for a second consecutive day, as did fullback Ryan D'Imperio (shoulder).
