Goalie Niklas Backstrom and forward Jason Zucker are done for the season.

Each player will have surgery, and is expected to be ready for the start of next season, the Wild announced Wednesday.

Backstrom had surgery for a "core muscle" Tuesday by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia, according to the release.

Zucker also had surgery Tuesday. Dr. Michael Stuart of the Mayo Clinic repaired a tendon Zucker's left quadriceps.
