One week after suffering their first weekend sweep in almost two years at Wisconsin, the No. 2-ranked Gophers hockey team bounced back by completing a two-game sweep of their own with a 4-1 victory Saturday against Michigan.

The No. 10 Wolverines scored less than two minutes into the game, but momentum largely stayed in the Gophers' favor for the rest of the night.

Minnesota's Sam Warning scored late in the first period to tie the score at one apiece. Connor Reilly and Nate Condon both netted goals in the second frame, propelling the Gophers' to a 3-1 lead.

The Gophers (20-4-5, 9-2-2-0 in the Big Ten) padded on to their lead when Hudson Fasching broke through on a power play near the midpoint of the third period to increase the deficit to three.

Kyle Rau and Vinni Lettieri both had a pair of assists for the Gophers.

Rebounding from an early goal, Minnesota goaltender Adam Wilcox stopped 28 of the 29 shots he faced.

The Gophers will be back at Mariucci Arena next weekend, playing host to Penn State.
