Gophers hockey exodus continues as Mark Alt signs with Flyers

The exodus from the Gophers men's hockey team isn't over yet.

Defenseman Mark Alt has signed with the Philadelphia Flyers, according to multiple reports.

Alt, 21, recorded seven assists and a plus-18 rating as a junior this past season.

The St. Paul native had one year of eligibility remaining but opted to follow the lead of Nate Schmidt (Washington), Nick Bjugstad (Florida) and Zach Budish (Nashville), who signed pro contracts earlier this week.

The other possible flight risk is leading scorer Erik Haula, whose rights are owned by the Minnesota Wild. But nothing appears imminent.
