Junior forward Sam Warning scored twice and the top-ranked Gophers hockey program completed its first road sweep since October with a decisive 5-2 win over Penn State on Monday night at Pegula Ice Arena.

After grinding out a 3-2 win with a third-period goal on Sunday, the Gophers jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Nittany Lions broke the seal on the net early in the third. Senior forward Nate Condon responded less than 20 seconds later to restore the Gophers' three-goal lead.

Sophomore goalie Adam Wilcox made 36 saves as the Gophers were outshot 38-25. Travis Boyd and Justin Kloos each added a goal for the Gophers.

The Gophers (15-2-3, 5-0-1 Big Ten) resume conference play in the Hockey City Classic at outdoor TCF Bank Stadium on Friday against Ohio State.
