Last weekend's sweep of North Dakota must have resonated nationwide.

The Gophers moved up four spots to No. 1 in the U.S. College Hockey Online Division I men's hockey poll, receiving 32 of 50 first-place votes in the rankings released on Monday morning.

At 9-1-0, the only blemish on the Gophers' record is a 5-4 nonconference loss to Vermont on Oct. 23. Since, the Gophers have swept Alaska-Anchorage and North Dakota by a combined 13-3 to stay perfect (6-0-0) in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play.

They take over the No. 1 spot previously occupied by Boston College, which lost 4-2 to Massachusetts on Saturday to fall to 8-2-0.

The Gophers visit Wisconsin for a two-game series beginning on Friday night in Madison.
