EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Listen to enough compliments heaped on a new coaching staff and they begin to sound like criticism of the old guard.

That probably wasn't Greg Jennings' intention when he stepped to the podium Tuesday at the first media availability of Vikings' voluntary mini-camp. Jennings took the chance to laud the 'complexity' of Norv Turner's offense, without overtly saying it's better than what Bill Musgrave ran.

But that's what many are expecting.

"He's one of those guys that's not going to give you a bunch of leeway because his offense works. It's proven and that's one of his statements he makes," Jennings said of Turner, who has guided high-powered offenses in Dallas and more recently San Diego, before spending a year as Cleveland's offensive coordinator. Also, in his final year with the Chargers, they took a big step back offensively from one of the best in the league to one of the worst.

'Look guys, I've been around a little bit longer than most guys in this building and this has worked,' Turner told his team, according to Jennings.

"What he says you can pretty much stamp it in concrete," Jennings said.

Here's a rudimentary look at how each of Turner's NFL offenses have ranked in yards:

Of course, many factors go into this. How good are the players? How good is the team's defense? Did the team stay relatively healthy?

This chart doesn't address these variables. It's meant to simply provide an overview of Turner's offensive credentials, which Jennings said "weigh a ton."
