Guard A.J. Price is in talks with the Minnesota Timberwolves about a potential invitation to training camp, a source told contributor Darren Wolfson.

Price, a former 2009 second round draft pick out of Connecticut, spent his first three seasons with Indiana before joining the Washington Wizards last year.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound guard logged his best pro season with the Wizards, averaging 7.7 points and 3.6 assists in 57 games.

Recently named Wolves general manager Milt Newton has ties to Price, having worked with him in Washington while serving as the Wizards' vice president of player personnel.

With their regular season opener against Orlando six weeks away, the Wolves are gearing up for the start of training camp. Players have slowly started making their way to Minneapolis. Along with a small group that is already in town, guard Alexey Shved and All-Star forward Kevin Love are expected to arrive sometime in the next week.
