MINNEAPOLIS - Safety Harrison Smith left Sunday's game against the Panthers early in the second half. His return is doubtful.

While on the sideline, Smith had his left shoe off on the trainer's table. Shortly thereafter, he was carted to the locker room.

We'll have updates on Smith's injury as it becomes available. The quick take: big blow for the Vikings defense, which can't afford injuries to marquee players like Smith.
