With Joe Mauer flying from Los Angeles to Minneapolis for the birth of his twin girls, the Minnesota Twins have placed him on MLB's three-day paternity list.

To fill the temporary roster void, the team has recalled...

... catcher Drew Butera

In 25 games for Triple-A Rochester, Butera is hitting .215/.247/.316 with two doubles. Many probably thought he would never make it back to the Twins' 25-man roster, especially with Chris Herrmann playing well. But he did. At least, temporarily.

The Twins will finish their series in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon, then they'll head to Seattle.
