The Wolves are in the midst of a coaching search, and it's hard to pick a favorite at this early stage.

But that won't stop us from trying.

Anecdotally, it seems many feel Flip Saunders will choose himself as Rick Adelman's replacement, despite owner Glen Taylor saying outright in a radio interview that he'd like Saunders to come back with another candidate.

Patrick Reusse wrote in a column for the Star Tribune that Saunders would be making a mistake to get back into coaching. He's the right guy for the Wolves, Reusse wrote, but he belongs in the front office and not on the bench.

Saunders appeared on the Mike & Mike show Wednesday morning and he downplayed the idea he could be the next coach. He said at Monday's press conference that "you never know," when asked if he'd get back into coaching.

"I don't really see that scenario," Saunders said on Mike & Mike, adding that his front office duties require a lot of work.

"I know it's been brought up a lot, and you never say never, but we have a lot of things going on here," Saunders said. "I've got a lot on my plate and that's enough right now to deal with."

Bovada has set up odds on the proposition bet for whom will take the job.

Here's how handicapped the race:

Flip Saunders: 3/2

Fred Hoiberg: 4/1

Billy Donovan: 4/1

Tom Izzo: 4/1

Lionel Hollins: 5/1

Stan Van Gundy: 5/1

Jeff Van Gundy: 14/1

I'm speculating here but I would guess Bovada doesn't have any more information on this race than any of us do. We can make educated guesses, but keep in mind that's really all that these odds represent.

A popular question has popped up this week, as Saunders is seen in this sense as the overwhelming favorite to win his own coaching search sweepstakes:

Flip or the field?

Is it more likely Flip Saunders will be the next head coach or than anybody else will be?

In a bet like that, I almost always will take the field.

Wolves fans, who do you think will be the next head coach?
