Jerome Felton was arrested for DWI while in McDonald's drive-thru lane

Minnesota Vikings fullback Jerome Felton wasn't on a highway or freeway early Saturday when he was arrested on a second-degree DWI charge.
Instead, Felton was waiting in the drive-thru lane at a McDonald's in Eden Prairie.
In an e-mail Monday, an Eden Prairie police spokesperson wrote that police responded to the McDonald's on Prairie Center Drive at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday because of a report of an intoxicated driver waiting in the drive-thru lane.
Police conducted field sobriety tests on Felton.
He was arrested for second-degree driving while intoxicated with an aggravating factor of refusal to take an alcohol breath test. That is a gross misdemeanor. He also was charged with third-degree DWI with an aggravating factor of one prior DWI conviction within 10 years (gross misdemeanor); as well as careless driving (misdemeanor).
Felton, 25, was booked into the Hennepin County Jail at 5:51 a.m. Saturday and released by noon after posting $12,000 bond. The Eden Prairie City Attorney handles prosecution of gross misdemeanor cases. No further details of the arrest were available.
An initial court appearance is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. on July 18 at Ridgedale Courthouse in Minnetonka.
A fifth-round pick in 2008 by Detroit who has appeared in 56 games for the Lions, Carolina and Indianapolis, Felton signed a one-year deal with the Vikings in March that included a minimum base salary and a $50,000 bonus tied to workouts and making the 53-man roster. He entered the offseason program as the favorite to be the Vikings' starting fullback.
