Sidelined since April 12 with leg weakness and other soreness, Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer appears ready to take the next step in his rehab process.

According to multiple reports, Mauer will head to Fort Myers on Tuesday to continue his rehab. It's unknown when he will begin playing in games.

Mauer began swinging and taking batting practice last week for the first time since being placed on the disabled list. In eight games this season, Mauer has hit just .235/.289/.265 with one extra-base hit.
