Joe Mauer was a late scratch from the Twins lineup Tuesday, after experiencing dizziness during batting practice, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

Mauer was slated to play first base, but Justin Morneau will replace him, with Josh Willingham sliding into designated hitter. Wilkin Ramirez will play left field.

Mauer has played in 113 of the team's 123 games this season (92 percent), splitting time between catcher, first base and designated hitter. The left-handed hitter has a .324/.404/.476 batting line this season. No other Twins player has a batting average above .270.

We'll post updates as they become available.
