MINNEAPOLIS -- The Kevin Slowey situation has taken yet another turn.
The right-hander will seek a second opinion on his abdomen after an MRI Monday ruled out a strain. The Twins have referred him to a local hernia specialist, with an appointment scheduled for Wednesday morning.
Until then, the Twins -- who were leaning heavily toward sending Slowey to Triple-A -- are in somewhat of a holding pattern.
"I'm still waiting to see what we have," said manager Ron Gardenhire.
"We're going to see if there's any issues there. If that's clear, then we'll probably do something. Absolutely we will."
Slowey currently remains on the 25-man roster, but he was unavailable to pitch once again on Tuesday night.
