EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Vikings plan to have Josh Freeman start at quarterback Monday night, head coach Frazier confirmed Wednesday.
"Probably the biggest change for us is what we're going to do at quarterback. We're going to try to get Josh [Freeman] ready for this Monday night ball game," Frazier said. "He's been spending a lot of time with our coaches from the day he arrived to prepare to play and eventually start for our team.
"We're going to see how the week goes but our anticipation is that he will be ready to go on Monday night and that he'll perform well."
Frazier said Freeman has spent a lot of hours cramming the playbook in preparation for his eventual start. Frazier said that he had a plan in place when Freeman arrived for the first time at Winter Park, but Freeman's command last week with the scout team impressed Frazier. The coach said that showing changed how soon Frazier that Freeman could be ready.
