Yes, we all got what we ultimately wanted this weekend, which was for the Minnesota Twins to upgrade over Jason Kubel, who had fallen into a deep slump. 

Well, actually it was more of a coma. A two-year coma that saw the once-feared Kubel hitting just .219/.300/.306 with six home runs since the beginning of last season. 

This season, Kubel struck out once every three times he came to the plate, his last extra-base hit came in April, and his WAR (Wins Above Replacement) has a minus symbol in front of it (-1.0). 

It's been a rough go for Kubel, who made the team out of spring training as a major league invite with a minor league contract. But let's not forget how good of a hitter he once was -- and how good he could have been if not for suffering a major knee injury nearly 10 years ago. 

Like in 2009, for instance, when he hit 28 home runs -- including this mammoth blast to complete the cycle and a Twins comeback:
