The Minnesota Twins announced Saturday that Hendriks will miss his scheduled start Sunday due to food poisoning. Anthony Swarzak will take the ball instead.
Hendriks claimed a spot in the starting rotation while Jason Marquis was away from the team for two weeks tending to his 7-year-old daughter. With the uncertain status of Scott Baker's elbow, it appears that Hendriks is in the rotation to stay if he pitches well.
This is likely just a spot start for Swarzak, who stretched out to six innings in his final spring outing.
