Wild defenseman Matt Dumba has been reassigned to the Canadian National Junior Team, the team announced Wednesday. He'll participate in the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Hockey Championship in Malmo, Sweden.

The tournament runs from Dec. 26, 2013 until Jan. 5, 2014.

Dumba has just two points in 13 games this season for the Wild. He averages just less than 12 1/2 minutes of ice time.

In early November, the Wild triggered the first year of his three-year rookie contract by having him play in his 10th game. Alternatively, the team had the option to return Dumba to his Juniors team, the Red Deer Rebels, for a season. He last played for the Wild on Nov. 23 in Winnipeg.
