Fiery starting pitcher Matt Garza is one of the top free agents on the market. Good news for the Twins: Garza has done his homework and is open to a return, according to a person with direct knowledge of negotiations.

The Twins met with Garza's agency, Creative Arts Agency, during the general managers meetings in Orlando this week. The team has not made an offer yet, according to one source.

The Twins' top priority this offseason is pitching, and there are a number of free agents the club is expected to be in on.

As of Friday morning, the Twins also had not made formal offers to Phil Hughes, Jason Vargas, Bronson Arroyo or Ubaldo Jimenez.

A national report surfaced Friday morning suggesting the Twins are making a 'strong push' for Ricky Nolasco. As of Thursday morning, the Twins had not offered a contract to Nolasco.
