FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Michael Cuddyer wart saga appears to be over.
The Minnesota Twins announced Tuesday that Cuddyer had the plantar wart removed from his left foot, and the outfielder is expected to miss 7-14 days of spring training.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Charles Crutchfield in Minnesota.
"It wasn't getting any better," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "We don't want it going into the year, into the season. Get it done, get it over with. Miss a couple of weeks now and not have to worry about it once the season starts."
