The city of Minneapolis has been named one of eight finalists for one of the NCAA Tournament's Final Four events in the 2017-2020 bid cycle.

In anticipation of the Minnesota Vikings' new stadium, set to open in 2016, the state of Minnesota could once again host a Final Four after the Metrodome held the event in 1992 and 2001.

New Orleans, North Texas, Indianapolis, Phoenix/Glendale, St. Louis, Atlanta and San Antonio join Minneapolis as the remaining candidates.

North Texas will host the Final Four this year, with Indianapolis and Houston playing home to the spectacle in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
