According to multiple reports, Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau has cleared waivers, making him eligible to be traded to any MLB team. The news was first reported by Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press.

The Twins must trade Morneau before Aug. 31 for him to be eligible for another team's post-season roster, but he can traded only for players who are not on 40-man rosters or for players who have also cleared waivers.

Morneau is hitting just .262/.318/.423 with 14 home runs this season, but seven of those blasts have come since the All-Star break.
