Tennessee has a vacant head coaching position for the men's basketball team. Gophers coach Richard Pitino is on the "short list of top candidates" to replace Cuonzo Martin, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Earlier Wednesday, USA Today speculated that Pitino would be among the list of names that Tennessee would consider

Now, just because he's on the short list doesn't mean he'd choose to leave Minnesota, shortly after completing his first season with an NIT championship

Pitino will not leave for the open Tennessee job, according to 1500 ESPN contributor Darren Wolfson.
