In their search to replace departed general manager Andy MacPhail, the Baltimore Orioles were denied permission to interview Minnesota Twins vice president of player personnel Mike Radcliff, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports.
The reason for the Twins denying the interview, a source told Kubatko, is because of internal reorganization and promotions.
As of Friday, the Twins had not made any internal shuffling public, and with the free agency gates opening on Thursday any reorganization this late in the game could be more of a hindrance.
Radcliff -- along with Toronto Blue Jays' special advisor Mel Didier and Seattle Mariners' vice president of international operations Bob Engle -- was recently named Scout of the Year to recognize his 25-plus years in baseball.
