Percy Harvin has broken his silence. Sort of.
The Pioneer Press tracked down Harvin at his Florida home on Tuesday just long enough for the receiver to decline comment about reports the Minnesota Vikings will consider trading him.
"I got nothing to say about any of that," Harvin said before retreating into the house and closing the door.
Harvin, 24, has one year remaining on his rookie contract, with a base salary of $2.9 million. He privately has made clear since last summer he expects a new deal.
Several NFL sources told 1500ESPN.com last week Harvin is seeking a contract averaging upwards of $10 million a year, perhaps creating a prohibitive price tag in trade talks.
Harvin went back to Florida to rehabilitate his balky ankle after the Vikings placed him on injured reserve on Dec. 5. He released a statement that day but otherwise has not spoken publicly.
