Phil Mackey is moving to mornings.
Effective Monday, Feb. 3, Mackey will join morning show host Judd Zulgad from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., 1500 ESPN program director Brad Lane announced Tuesday. Patrick Reusse will keep his current time slot, from 3-6 p.m.
"Phil and Judd both are tireless in their approach to covering local sports," Lane said in a staff email. "We're thrilled about the infusion of Phil's energy and creativity into a show Judd has already established as a smarter and more unvarnished look into Twin Cities sports than its competitors in that [time slot]."
Reusse will continue to join Joe Soucheray for the Sports Show from 3-4 p.m. Reusse also will take on full solo host duties for the 4-6 p.m. show. Producer Cory Roufs and Chris Reuvers will join during that time slot.
"We really feel like this revised lineup makes absolute best use of our existing personalities and assets and positions us to continue being a relevant player among the sports media outlets in town," Lane said.
